The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a global motorcycle fund-raising event to raise awareness of prostate cancer and male suicide prevention. Started in 2012 in Sydney Australia and have since grown into an global event. This year we have 112,000 registered bikers globally. This is mine 5th year attending this amazing event. And I still haven’t gotten a bike license. This year’s DGR Singapore start venue is at the lovely Wheeler’s Estate near Seletar Air Base. It’s always good time to catch up with old pals and meet new friends too.
As a photographer I will try to shoot something different every year to challenge oneself. Here are a 4 picture to showcase the shots taken from the last 4 years of DGR Singapore from 2014 to 2017.
This year I brought two cameras to cover this event. The ever sexy Fujifilm X100F and GFX50s. I used the GFX50S with a GF45mm to cover some event shots. X100F took centerstage; I decided to shoot the bikers head on. Literally and as raw as I could get. As X100F house is a leaf shutter lens; therefore I am able to fire the flash at a much higher sync speed. For this case I used 1/2000 to overpower the 2pm sun. Below are my favorite 99 shots of these group of amazing Distinguished Gentleman and Gentleladies bikers.
